PENGARUH KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL DAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR TERHADAP PENGUASAAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA

Abstract

Tujuan umum dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan dan menganalisis secara
empiris pengaruh kecerdasan emosional dan motivasi belajar terhadap penguasaan konsep
matematika siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi ganda.
Adapun sampel berjulmah 46 orang siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri di Kecamatan Cikulur
Kabupaten Lebak, Banten. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa; 1) Terdapat
pengaruh kecerdasan emosional dan motivasi belajar secara bersama-sama terhadap
penguasaan konsep matematika. Hal ini diperlihatkan nilai koefisien korelasi ganda
sebesar 0,823 dengan kontribusi sebesar 72,9% terhadap penguasaan konsep matematika.
Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosional dan motivasi belajar
siswa akan diikuti semakin tingginya penguasaan konsep matematika. 2) Terdapat
pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap penguasaan konsep matematika. Pengaruh ini
signifikan dengan nilai sig yang diperoleh adalah sebesar 0,243 yang lebih besar dari
0,05. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka semakin baik kecerdasan emosional siswa akan
semakin baik pula penguasaan konsep matematikanya.3) Terdapat pengaruh motivasi
belajar terhadap penguasaan konsep matematika. Pengaruh ini signifikan dengan nilai sig
yang diperoleh sebesar 0,053 yang lebih besar dari 0,05. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka
semakin baik motivasi belajar siswa maka akan semakin baik pula penguasaan konsep
matematikanya.

ABSTRACT General purpose of this research is to find and analyze empirically influence of emotional intelligence and motivation learn to mastery of student math concept. This research was conducted by using multiple regression analysis. The sample punctuated 46 students of class VIII SMP Negeri in District Cikulur Lebak, Banten. From the research result, it can be concluded that; 1) There is the influence of emotional intelligence and motivation to learn together to master the concept of mathematics. This is shown the value of multiple correlation coefficient of 0.823 with a contribution of 72.9% towards mastery of mathematical concepts. Based on the above, the higher the emotional intelligence and student learning motivation will be followed by the higher mastery of mathematical concepts. 2) There is an effect of emotional intelligence on mastery of mathematical concepts. This effect is significant with the sig value obtained is 0.243 which is greater than 0.05. Based on it, the better the emotional intelligence of students will be better also mastery mastering concepts. 3) There is influence of learning motivation to master the concept of mathematics. This effect is significant with the sig value obtained at 0.053 greater than 0.05. Based on the above, the better the students' learning motivation the better the mastery of mathematical concepts.
